James. Part 7. James 2:14-26. Pt. 2

To deal carefully and consistently with James in all of Scripture, and avoid the confusions of those who don’t, we’re taking some time to explore several passages from Paul. As we go through parts of Paul’s teaching on salvation, we’ll be better able to place his teaching soundly alongside James’ teaching and both in the whole of Scripture. The Apostles Paul and James teach in perfect harmony of course. As we seek to understand both the unity and the distinctions between God’s saving grace and our works, we’ll worship our triune God better. We’ll exalt Jesus and the Cross to the place he deserves. We will be able to worship God in grace alone along with all the saints of old. We’ll avoid the pitfalls of the boasters and love more of our rest in Christ’s imputed righteousness.
